The Grand Prix of Portland showed a dominating performance by Scott McLaughlin as the championship fight contenders were trimmed from seven to four. Down below are the Winners and Losers from this today’s race.

Winner: Will Power

Yes, the first winner is not the race winner. Though he did not win, the championship leader put on a strong showing, putting himself in second place. If he can carry this performance into next weekend’s race, then he will most likely win it all.

Loser: Josef Newgarden

While his performance wasn’t bad, still finishing in the top ten, if he had just come up a bit and finished on the red tire, then maybe he could be a tad bit closer to Power in the championship

Winner: Scott Mclaughlin

The winner was flawless this weekend, claiming pole and then proceeding to lead 104 of 110 laps was an outstanding performance. While he may be a little far back to win the championship, needing a miracle. He could be a favorite to win next year’s.

Loser: Alex Palou and Pato O’ward

These two didn’t have the best weekend as both of them were knocked out of championship contention. O’Ward tried to make a move on Power at the restart but picked up damage to the right rear.

Winner: Scott Dixon

He didn’t win, but he did have a strong podium finish, making him tied with Newgarden for second place in the championship

Loser: Christian Lundgaard

The former F2 champion and Rookie of the Year leader had a great Fast Six qualifying session and great race pace. But a failed move on Rossi resulted in having an advertisement on his wing and having to got to pit lane. Next week’s season finale will decide if he or David Malukas takes the RotY award.
